Terms Scanner — Support

A Chrome extension that reads a website's terms, privacy and cookie policies and tells you the catches.

Getting started

  1. Install the extension and pin it to the toolbar.
  2. Open any website and click the Terms Scanner icon. The side panel opens.
  3. Click Scan this site. The scanner opens the site's front page in a background tab of its own, finds the legal links, reads them, and closes that tab when done. Your own tab is never touched.
  4. Read the bullets. Each has a See clause link that jumps to the exact sentence on the source page. Ask follow-up questions in the chat underneath.

Common questions

It says "Couldn't find the terms". Some sites hide their legal pages behind unusual links. Paste the terms page URL into the box shown and the scanner will start from there.

A page was "skipped by the triage agent". The scanner reads only pages that bind an ordinary user (terms, privacy, cookies, refunds, billing). Help articles, translations and duplicates are skipped on purpose and listed under Sources so you can see what was left out.

Is this legal advice? No. It reads and explains the documents; the decision is yours.

What data leaves my browser? Only the text of the legal pages and the cookie banner, sent to our API for analysis. Nothing is stored server-side. Full details in the privacy policy.
